Toxic bosses, hostile workplaces, unfair co-workers, difficult conditions: Yeah, these things exist, but the phony baloney claims that most companies are like this, 78.4% of bosses don’t care, yada yada yada, are efforts to shift the issue from a minority of people who don’t believe in their own accountability and/or simply hate their work to a fictional number of others who are somehow responsible for their unhappiness and lack of success.

I don’t know about you, but every day I see some employees—a minority—in retail stores, pharmacies, medical offices, and so forth who just don’t give a damn. Customers and patients and clients are simply “in the way,” forcing the employee to actually do something.

We’ve established the perfect “out” for people who don’t want to put in some hard work to earn money: “Why should I? It’s the boss, not me. Social media will back me up on this.” Well, see if social media will pay you when you’re fired for a lousy attitude and a refusal to accept personal accountability.
