There are two scams, primarily on Linkedin, that are so stupid you just have to laugh.
One is from the people (mostly men) who claim they’ve scaled a dozen businesses and made tens of millions, or they have a guaranteed marketing approach that have made them millions. The trouble is that I’ve never heard of any of them and, more importantly, if they’ve made that kind of money why are they pitching products on Linkedin?
The second is from people (mostly women) who claim to have had a rough life, been treated unfairly at work, and/or were addicted or in prison. These stories are always followed by a full-length glam shot of someone who looks like a magazine model. Why is that necessary?
I’m just sayin’….

Just because someone writes a book (and I’ve written a lot of them) doesn’t mean the author is an expert. It simply means that person has written a book. (I try to keep this in mind!) And just because you’ve read a book doesn’t mean you’re “educated.” It just means you’ve read a book. (I also try to keep this in mind.)
Example: At the moment, with this “drone craze” in the northeast (I’m from New Jersey and strange things in the skies don’t rate high on the “weird things in New Jersey” list)*, people are citing books “proving” there are UFOs. The books are written by people who claim to have seen UFOs, but who otherwise don’t have a scintilla of evidence (encounters of the second kind—evidence of presence—or third kind—actual contact). They claim an unsubstantiated sighting.
Just because others claim they’ve seen a Sasquatch or a Yeti doesn’t mean they exist. Be content that there are mysteries we can’t fathom, such as the nature of the universe, and get one with your life.
